Accident on Changi Coast Road leaves five Indian workers injured

TNP, Khairullah Jumala | Friday, Jan 03, 2014       SINGAPORE - For about 6km, Changi Coast Road runs long and generally straight with a speed limit of just 70kmh. Yet it has been the scene of some horrific accidents. On Wednesday, a crash between a lorry and a Mercedes-Benz car at about 4.30pm left five Indian workers with broken bones and other injuries. Passing motorists were horrified to find the workers lying on the side of the road bleeding from their wounds. The New Paper approached the driver of the car, but he declined to be interviewed, saying he was still in shock. Security executive Khairullah Jumala, 26, was in his car with his fiancée when the crash occurred. He was in the front-passenger seat while his fiancée drove, and their car was some distance behind the two vehicles involved in the crash. Mr Khairullah recounted: "The car was in the right lane and the lorry on the left. It seemed as if the lorry was trying to overtake the car
