-- PHOTO: AZIZ HUSSIN A lorry, which was ferrying construction workers, lies on its side after it collided with a car on the Pan-Island Expressway yesterday morning. One of the workers died and 12 others were injured, adding to the list of fatalities involving heavy vehicles. Eight of the men were sitting on the floor at the back of the lorry. The accident, which took place before the Simei Avenue exit heading towards Tuas, caused a major traffic jam when the two vehicles blocked all three lanes of the PIE until 8.40am. -- PHOTO: STOMP Straits Times, Published on Feb 07, 2013 A worker was flung from the back of a lorry after it collided with a car along East Coast Parkway near Marina Bay Sands at around 10.15pm on Tuesday. It is understood that the man was not seriously hurt. Police said two lorry passengers and the driver of the car were taken conscious to the Singapore General Hospital. It is unclear how the worker fell from the lorry which appeared to have a canopy and high railings - requirements in line with rules introduced in 2011 to improve passenger safety. Police are investigating the incident.

From AsiaOne Friday, 8 June 2012 SINGAPORE - A 36-year-old construction worker was killed in a hit-and-run accident involving an Audi and a lorry. Md Hazrat Ali passed away on Wednesday night. The Audi crashed into the lorry in the wee hours of May 23 along the East Coast Parkway (ECP) towards Changi, near Marine Terrace estate, killing one and injuring three others.
